What We Provide

The Shed serves to provide a safe space for people, mostly older men, to meet and socialise. But as older men are notoriously bad at making new friends, it has been shown that having something to work on together, sharing their knowledge and skills, gets over any reluctance or hesitation to join in.

So, like most Men’s Sheds, we are set up primarily to do simple woodworking, but most practical crafts can be undertaken – although our insurance policy does not allow hot-metal work.

Our workshop has most fixed equipment found in wood shops along with handheld power tools and traditional hand-working tools. These are all available for use by members after training.

Although our Arts & Craft room is upstairs, we have a chairlift for those with mobility challenges.

On the ground floor, The Shed has a well-equipped kitchen and toilets including an accessible toilet.
